Director of Technology & Automation
Job Summary
Professional Security Alliance, Inc. dba PSA, The PSA Network, and Edge, located in Westminster, Colorado, is the world’s largest systems integrator consortium. We are seeking a Director of Technology & Automation to lead and execute technology initiatives that directly improve operational efficiency, enhance member value, and support business growth. This role focuses on the practical application of technology to drive measurable business outcomes through system optimization, workflow automation, process improvement, and scalable technology solutions.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can both establish direction and deliver results, while also leading and developing the IT team. This position combines strategic prioritization with operational execution, ensuring technology investments are cost-effective, scalable, and aligned with organizational objectives. Working across departments, the Director of Technology & Automation will identify opportunities to improve technology processes, integrate systems, leverage data more effectively, and implement automation that increases efficiency for both PSA employees and members.
Salary Range: $155,000 to $175,000
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technology Planning & Execution
- Develop and maintain a practical technology roadmap aligned to business priorities
- Partner with executive leadership to recommend technology solutions that improve efficiency and member experience
- Evaluate build vs. buy decisions with a strong focus on ROI and speed to value
- Own and optimize all core business systems (ERP, CRM, webstore)
- Improve system integration and eliminate manual processes
- Ensure systems are scalable and reliable for continued company growth
- Improve reporting capabilities across sales, operations, and leadership
- Support development of pricing and vendor data insights
- Promote data-driven decision making across departments
- Identify and implement automation across key workflows (quoting, order processing, communication)
- Leverage AI and emerging tools to reduce manual work and improve speed/accuracy
- Continuously evaluate opportunities to streamline operations
- Enhance digital tools and platforms used by PSA members
- Improve usability, adoption, and overall member experience
- Support new technology-driven services aligned with member needs
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to evaluate technology partners
- Ensure PSA leverages best-fit vendor solutions without unnecessary complexity
- Maintain strong, value-oriented vendor relationships
- Lead and develop a small, high-performing technology team (internal and external resources)
- Prioritize work based on business impact
- Ensure accountability and execution across all initiatives
- Oversee cybersecurity measures appropriate for company size and risk profile
- Ensure systems and data protection without overengineering
- Maintain compliance with standard industry practices

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Required
- 7–12 years of progressive IT or technology leadership experience
- Strong experience with ERP/CRM systems and business operations
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes through technology
- Experience implementing automation or workflow improvements
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
- Experience in distribution, buying groups, or cooperative models
- Exposure to pricing or multi-vendor environments
- Experience in small-to-mid-sized organizations
